Currently I finished 3 out of 4 secret jobs in Octopath Traveler, but because this is the most challenging boss among the 4, this will be the first guide post for the secret jobs quest.
Boss name: Balogar

Shield: 5-9
Weak:

Item: Refreshing Jam
Balogar will start with 5 shields and he will lock 3 weaknesses. After recovering from break, shields adds by 2 until it reaches 9.
Once his HP reaches below 50%, all runes will be unlocked and he will also use Runestorm which makes the runes target the entire party.
Skills:
- Rune of Flame: Fire elemental damage.
- Rune of Ice: Ice elemental damage. Chance to inflict sleep.
- Rune of Thunder: Lightning elemental damage. Chance to inflict unconsciousness.
- Rune of Wind: Wind elemental damage. Inflicts physical def. and elemental def. down.
- Rune of Light: Light elemental damage. Inflicts speed down and evasion down.
- Rune of Darkness: Dark elemental damage. Chance to inflict blindness.
- Runestorm: Causes all rune attacks to target all party members instead of a single target. Enables the use of Runelord’s Resolve. Unlocks all weaknesses
- All The Elements Are United!: Uses Runelord’s Resolve next action if not broken.
- Runelord’s Resolve: Inflicts all 6 types of elemental damage on a single target.

Cyrus: Scholar/Sorcerer
Primrose: Dancer/Starseer
Alfyn: Apothecary/Cleric
Tressa: Merchant/Thief
Alfyn and Tressa’s role fills Burst points, Primrose buffs Cyrus, then Cyrus is my Damager. Based from the first picture, the finish became a 1-on-1 battle.
