I feel like it was yesterday when several incidents happened. From volcano eruption to Coronavirus pandemic, majority of the industries halted during the dark days of 2020.
But what would be the impact of the incidents in the gaming industry? Because people are living virtually, gamers increased in numbers, new streamers emerged, and several gimmicks online appeared.
During the early days of the community quarantine (or lockdown), when the Nintendo Switch game, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, has been launched, the game has been streamed worldwide by known Nintendo streamers.
Some of my friends bought a Nintendo Switch device just to play the game. The hype lasted for months and people would virtually meet in one island just to stroll and play.
On the 3rd quarter of 2020, new games such as Among us and Genshin impact emerged and until now, those 2 new games are streamed frequently.
I hope that this year, 2021, will be gentle even though the threat of the dreaded virus is still somewhere, I hope that we will back once again to normal.
